Go for launch.

After months of hard work and with many thanks to Rani, my website finally launches today. So what is happening in Puerto Galera (apart from having two Facebook pages with the same name “what’s happening in Puerto Galera”). Well we are still under MGCQ and we are all wearing face masks in public….but more importantly we are diving….and visiting Verde, Hibo as well as all our favourites, Canyons, Alma Jane, and the Threshers at Kilima.

More exciting still….residents in the Philippines can travel to PG if willing to take a covid test and register with our tourism website.

Okay….health warning! Not everything is open yet and that includes attractions on my ‘other activities’ page but every couple of weeks things change.

The diving however…is awesome at the moment. No crowds, plenty of aquatic life and even more interaction than I remember. It’s as if the fish have missed us.

Mia continues her DMT and we are entering the final stages. Kylo and Logan grow daily. They are so much fun.

Well that’s it for today. Watch for updates. Salamat Po.

July 2020 Update

Well, since I last blogged we have moved through different phases of MGCQ and have been diving with our local divers 3 to 4 times a week. I have completed a number of technical dives together with Aaron and have also completed my scooter training. With Aaron and Ethei currently away I will be covering the tech dives on behalf of Capt’n Greggs.

Before Aaron left we were fortunate to dive Dave’s Rock where we observed two Threshers sharks close up and personal.

Mia continues to undertake her DMT with me and with help from Big Boy.

I am please to say that some of the recent dives have reassured me that the fish stock has not been affected during quarantine when the Major gave permission for fishing due to the lack of food. See videos from Dungon Wall and West Escarcio.

Life here continues to educate me and we are enjoying the time we spend with Logan and Kylo. We have decided to give them their own spot here.

Back in the water!

Tuesday 2nd June 2020 sees local divers returning to the water thanks to some great work by Capt’n Greggs dive management. Whilst Modified Government Community Quarantine (MGCQ) continues, the team have put together a social distancing and enhanced cleaning process together with a customer signing in book to satisfy the Mayor who has actively supported this step in returning to a fully operational dive resort.
