Getting here…
There are several ways to travel to Sabang dependent on your origin. Travel routes to suit all budgets from public airconditioned buses to private transfers, fast cat ferries to water taxi speedboats. Ask for the latest information.
Travel Options…
You can book a private van direct from the airport or your chosen hotel that will convey you to Batangas main port or to the private boat departures nearby. Travel time 90 minutes.
You can grab a bus from Buendia bus station or PITX (Paranaque Interchange), there are regular departures to Batangas and it will cost less that 200PHP. Buses are airconditioned and usually there is a movie on the screen at the front. Some have wifi and they are generally full before they depart. Travel time 90 minutes to 3 hours.
Once at Batangas you can book onto several crossing options depending on your timings. Services cross to Muelle and Balatero (Puerto Galera) or to Calapan. If you travel to Calapan you will need to travel by road for an hour to Puerto Galera but this does give you later in the day travel options. Crossing times are about 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Private boats are available through booking agents and this will get you across in 30 minutes from Berberabe Port and can drop you in Sabang.
With so many different options why don’t you let me schedule for you.
Accommodations
Sabang is right in the thick of it. The best diving is literally a walk in from the boardwalk. There are rooms from budget to luxury. Its good to book in advance to ensure you get your choice but walk ins are possible outside of peak holidays (check Chinese Holiday schedules as these are busy).
Restaurants
There is so much choice I cannot cover it all here. As a member of the Puerto Galera Classic Club I get to visit some of the finest restaurants accross the Puerto Galera footprint so whatever your taste I have probably been there and can help you decide.
From the no nonsense reasonably priced large portion food to the exquisite fine cuisine crossing the contents from European and Australasian tastes to the exotic Asian and African inspired mouth watering morsels. Or a simple American inspired Burger or steak. But don’t forget to try it the Filipino way.
Bars
Sabang is well known for its go go bars and there is plenty of fun to be had but don’t over look some of the numerous hotel bars that can offer some great sunset views. Capt’n Gregg’s the home of the Gin Juice or my favourite IPA on tap. Live music, Pool competitions, and yes…karaoke! It’s all here.
